Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 August 2026
HARUDA asks you for information about your body and your health so it can plan meals that suit you. That information deserves careful handling, and this page explains exactly how we handle it — in plain language, not legalese.
The short version
- We collect what we need to build your meal plans, and not much else.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never sell health information.
- We don't use your health data for advertising or share it with advertisers.
- You can delete your account and your data at any time.
- Questions: privacy@haruda.app
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information — your email address and password.
- Health and dietary information — goals, health conditions you choose to tell us about, allergies and intolerances, dietary preferences, and details such as age, height, weight, or activity level where you provide them. You control what you share; some features work less well without it.
- Food and plan activity — meals you accept, swap, or reject, and foods you scan or log.
- Support correspondence — messages you send us, including any health details you include in them.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — app version, device type, operating system, and how features are used, so we can fix bugs and improve the product.
- Diagnostics — crash reports and error logs.
How we use it
- To generate and adjust your meal plans, and to respect the conditions and limits you've set.
- To operate your account and provide customer support.
- To improve HARUDA — finding bad catalog entries, unrealistic portions, and plans that don't balance properly.
- To send service messages such as verification and password resets.
- To meet legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse.
We do not use your health information to target advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.
How we share it
We share personal information only in these situations:
- Service providers who run infrastructure on our behalf — hosting, email delivery, error monitoring — under contracts that limit them to processing data for us.
- Legal requirements — when we're required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of people using HARUDA.
- Business transfer — if HARUDA is acquired or merges, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We'd notify you before your information became subject to a materially different privacy policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Support emails and health information
When you email support, your message — including any medications, conditions, or measurements you describe — is stored in our business email system so we can help you and refer back if you write again. Access is limited to people working on HARUDA support. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to provide support and meet legal obligations, and delete it on request where we're able.
How long we keep information
We keep your account information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we're required to keep records longer for legal, tax, or security reasons. Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that's wrong
- Delete your account and personal information
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent you previously gave
You can delete your account inside the app. For any other request, email privacy@haruda.app. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we take this seriously, and if a breach affects your information we'll notify you as required by law.
Children
HARUDA is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@haruda.app and we'll delete it.
International users
HARUDA is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed there. Privacy laws in the United States may differ from those where you live. By using HARUDA you understand your information will be processed as described here.
Not medical advice
HARUDA provides meal planning, not medical care or medical advice. Nothing in the app is a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your health conditions and before making significant dietary changes.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date. For material changes we'll give you notice in the app or by email.
